Hospitality & Culinary Degree and Programs
The hospitality field is a broad one, encompassing culinary careers, restaurant management, the gaming industry, travel, and the hotel business. Among those broad categories, it's easy to find jobs that fit almost any interest. A restaurant, for example, needs chefs, wait staff, managers, and financial analysts. Hotels need managers, cleaning staff, event planners, concierges and more.
Preparing for a Hospitality Career
Many technical schools provide short-term coursework preparing you for work in customer service, meeting and event planning, or sales and marketing. Those with a college degree may have a stronger academic base to draw from, and often can go straight into management. A university setting provides practical experience coupled with coursework in language and business. And don't discount the apprenticeship experience, where you can learn the ropes via practical, on-the-job training.
