What is Fashion
Designing?
Fashion design is the art of the combining the
designs and aesthetics sense .The result of that
combination applies to clothing and accessories. Fashion
designers work in different many ways. Some involves
sketching their ideas on paper, while others drape
fabric on a dress form. When a design has been worked
out, now starts the work of professional pattern maker
whose job is to make working version of the pattern out
of card. Finally, the sample out fit is tested to ensure
its accuracy and functionality.
There are many factors that affect the fashion designing
area. It varies from culture to culture and locations to
locations.. Fashion designers may work solely or as a
team to create and design clothing and accessories. They
are tasked to satisfy consumers’ desire and taste.
One of the main aspects of Fashion designing is to
create clothes and accessories which are functional .On
the other hand, these should be as aspect of pleasure
for the consumer when they use and carry them. Another
aspect of fashion designing is to create and design
clothing and accessories according to the situations in
which these will be put on. With a wide range and
combinations of materials and a range of colors,
patterns and styles ,they attempt to design new looks
that satisfy the peoples ‘aesthetic sense The wide of
range of designing include conventional or casual style,
evening wear or party wear etc. The most commonly used
style falls in the category of clothing worn for
everyday wear. Some unusual garments such as party wear
or evening wear are usually sought for special
occasions. There are other forms of designing as well
such as haute couture .In this designing; the clothes
are made specifically created for an individual.
Fashion designers have the option to either may work
full-time for one Fashion Company, known as 'in-house
designers' which owns the designs or work on their own
as “free-lance designers” or as part of a team.
Freelance designers work for themselves, selling their
designs to fashion houses, directly to shops, or to
clothing manufacturers. In such case the buyer owns the
label and the garments carry that label.
Fashion designers may set up their own labels, and
market those designs. They may work and design for
individual clients or present their services to
high-fashion department stores. Designer brands namely
Calvin Klein, Gucci, or Chanel are designed by a team of
individual designers under the direction of a designer
director.
